Mr. Karma Sherpa the founder of Sherpa Mountain Journey was born in 1976 in the foothills of Mt. Everest. Having been born into a family of 9 members as the youngest, in rural Solukhumbu district, Mr. Sherpa has had a very humble beginning to his career.
Hardened by the struggles and difficulties of rural village way of life and despite having studied in a school with Nepali medium, he chose to take on the field of travel and tourism. The path for which was set by fellow legendary Sherpa Tenzing Norgay. Initially Mr. Sherpa’s career started off as a porter then into an assistant chef in expeditions and gradually honing his English and managing skills into a trekking and mountain guide. His achievements in the mountaineering field include the ascent of mountains like Mt. Everest, Mt. Shishapangma, Mt. Cho You and many other peaks.
Over his career spanning more than two decades he has trekked across all over Nepal and traveled Europe promoting tourism in Nepal. Mr. sherpa also built a community healthcare in his rural birth area which is called “Sherpa Health Care Nepal” with the aims to make health care facilities accessible to rural community which the people have been deprived of in the area.
Dedicating his entire youth to the tourism industry in Nepal, he has extensive knowledge of tourism Industry. Combining his experience with the team of sherpa mountain journey today he proudly runs the company as the MD.
